My name is Tamil, and I’m a 32-year-old trader from Bangalore. In December 2022, I took one of the World Trading Cup (WTC) prize places on Binomo. To me, it was a sudden achievement that significantly shaped my trading and gave me some valuable insights.
During autumn, I felt like my trading was getting more and more monotonous each day: there were no new emotions. My account balance didn’t really grow and didn’t run out. Basically, I was in a bit of a trading slump. That was the main reason I decided to join the WTC: the participation was free, but once you sign up, you have extra motivation to trade every day. And at the time, I could use anything.
I’m not a competitive person by nature, that’s why at first, I wasn’t in it for the prizes. For me, it was just a good opportunity to shake my trading up a little. I’ve never taken part in any tournaments on Binomo, and to be honest, was a bit skeptical and didn’t know what to expect.
Before the WTC, I didn’t spend much time preparing. To be honest, I didn’t do anything. When the championship started, I signed up for both mechanics and traded every day as usual. With time I noticed that I was pretty high on the 50 Daily leaderboard and thought to myself, “So I’m not that bad after all!”
After that, I got more ambitious and started to think about getting one of the prizes. Sometimes I had to make quick decisions and adapt to the ever-changing market on the go. Some trades went well, and I felt super confident. But there were also times when things didn’t go as planned, and I had to quickly adjust my approach.
For 20 days, I made 50 trades a day and earned Bions, and to my surprise, I ended up in the top 100 traders in the 50 Daily challenge. I got a handful of risk-free trades (still haven’t spent them all to this day) and automatically got to the Finals. The Finals lasted for 5 days. I took 26th place, which is, in my opinion, more than impressive for a newbie I was!
Looking back, participating in the championship was an incredible experience. It has motivated me to keep pushing forward in my trading journey and made me realize that I’m actually quite a decent trader. I’m going to double check that in the next similar adventure. See you there!
